Pearly Bakers

So friday is pretty much unofficially pearly bakers day, mostly because it's payday and food there is kind of pricey. Some days the veggie burgers are just on, and today was one of them. I'm a big fan of the chipotle mayonnaise that they put on it, because it only adds to the deliciousness of the burger.

China King

Today was pretty much a filler lunch, because i was supposed to get dinner not too long after, and i just wanted something small. I got an order of fried rice and two spring rolls, and had no idea that i was going to get so much rice. I ate about half the container before i felt kinda sick.

The Bagel Bar

I had the day off due to the snow, so i slept in until 12 and grabbed some lunch at the bagel bar. I was going to get lunch here yesterday and my credit card didn't work, but i had cash today so there was no holding back. I went with a pizza bagel with green peppers on a plain bagel. I love pizza and bagels, so the combination of the two just makes sense to me.

Betty's

So i skipped class today and decided to grab some lunch instead. Since my credit card didn't work at the bagel bar i ended up going to betty's. I went with the cheese quesadilla with rice and a side of sour cream. While it's not the pizza bagel i was hoping for, it was still not a bad way to spend a lunch.

Pino's Pizzeria

Seth decided that today was pizza day (something that i had no problems with), so we ordered a medium plain from Pino's. Now i know some people were up in arms about my previous statements regarding this certain pizza place, but since that pizza came from the Nazareth store and today's came from the Easton store, i went into this lunch with an open mind. The pizza was pretty good, and the french fries were not too bad, but could have been cooked a bit more. It didn't take long for me to start putting the french fries on the pizza.

SS and Jaz's Wedding

Today two of my good friends got married, and following the ceremony i indulged in the biggest lunch to be posted yet. The reception was set up as a potluck, so there was a ton of amazing food for vegans and non vegans alike. My first plate consisted of black beans and rice, pasta salad (which had pieces of eggplant, tomatoes, olives and feta cheese), a cheese sandwhich and barbeque seitan (which was exceptionally good).


Plate number two was just as good. The baked ziti that Justin made was as good as always, although it looked like he didn't put as much vegan cheese on it as he did in the past. I managed to grab a little more of the seitan (it was really that good!) and i tried a piece of the pierogie casserole that Joe Beers had made, which was hands down the best part of my lunch. There was a few other dishes that i wanted to try (like the homemade hummus) but by the time i finished plate two it was time for the cake and i had to leave some room for that.

Pearly Bakers

For lunch today Gian and I decided to go with Pearly Bakers. I had my usual harvest burger with American cheese and no tomato. While it always seems to fill me up, i can't help but notice that they have been skimping on the amount of fries you get on the side. That small gripe aside, the food tasted great, and that's why i will continue to walk across the circle in freezing wind and shitty weather to get it.

Mex Tex Trio

Another friday, and that means another awesome lunch. I got hooked up today at mex tex, and i was stoked. I got the usual enchilada and burrito meal, but the addition of roasted vegetables made it even better. I am really excited that this place is so close to my work.

Cali Burrito

On the way to Double Decker i decided to stop off at Cali Burrito and grab a quick lunch. I went with the usual humboldt, which is always good. Some days their food is just on, and today was one of those days. Everything tasted great and the chips were perfectly deep fried. If you haven't heard about or eaten here, i feel bad for you.

Wegmans

I was really in a mood to not make lunch today, so in my haste to look for something quick and cheap i went to wegmans for their chinese buffet. I ended up getting the general tso's tofu with green beans and vegetable fried rice. For a grocery store, their tofu really isn't that bad. The only thing that sucks is that the price goes by weight, so i spent a little more than i would have liked.

Betty's

Today was pretty cold, so i really had no other option than to get soup. This prompted me to go to Betty's for the first time this year for the vegetarian chili that they had on special. This was always my favorite soup to get when i worked there, and it's still as good as i remember it being. My only complaint is that i needed more that 4 saltines, but didn't have any on hand. Otherwise of that, it was a much better lunch than yesterday.

The General Store

So it was back to Jersey for lunch today, and much like the state it came from, lunch today was disappointing. For reason's i can't understand they made my sandwich on the most stale piece of bread i have ever tried to eat, and to add insult to injury they put some disgusting vinegar dressing on it (and i fucking HATE vinegar). I normally don't like wasting food, but after suffering through about half of this sandwich i threw it in the trash.

Marco's Pizza Express

I had eaten at this place once before and it was pretty good, so i was hoping it would continue that streak. I went with the broccoli, mozzarella and pepper pizza that was on special. I also loaded it up with crushed red pepper, basil and garlic. The crust was thick, but not too thick and the two different kinds of cheese provided a good contrast. Definitely a place to check out if you're in Bethlehem.

New Wok N' Roll

I was hoping to get something new for lunch today, but nobody else was having that, so we ended up getting chinese again. I went with the usual tofu and broccoli in a brown sauce with a spring roll. The only thing that sucks is that this is the only good tofu dish they have. I ordered the szechuan tofu once and i will not make that mistake ever again.

Mex Tex Trio

Today is the first instance of a guest lunch, as the mexican veggie burger pictured above belonged to Giancarlo Demarchi (of Easton Crew fame). I had the burrito and enchilada meal served with spanish rice and refried beans. We split a large order of chips and salsa on top of all of that, and the end result was a satisfying lunch and a full stomach.

Taco Bell

I know, Taco Bell is kind of disgusting, but whatever. I went with my usual double chalupa meal with a hard taco. Since i didn't get meat on anything, they loaded everything with beans. I also got an order of nachos, which blew. I am still hungry.

Mark's

Today was my first lunch in Kutztown for the semester, and i figured there would be no better way to kick that off than by getting Mark's. I went with the usual veggie burger hoagie with lettuce and onion, and a side of waffle fries. In retrospect i probably should have gotten a small side of fries, because i definitely ate more than i should have.

Forks Mediterranean Deli

Today was the first day of classes for the spring semester, and i also had to work right after class so i didn't think i was going to be able to have lunch today, but i managed to grab something when i got to work. I've been trying to eat here for what seems like years now, so the falafel was really hyped in my mind, and it did not disappoint. I'm still kind of full actually.

My House

Since today is an off day, and i'm lazy, i just had leftovers from dinner. Last night my mom made vegetarian chili with imitation ground beef, kidney beans, chick peas, green and red peppers and a few other things we had around the kitchen. I topped it off with some shredded cheddar cheese and had a slice of Italian bread to go with it.

Pearly Bakers

So i made up for yesterday by getting lunch at Pearly Bakers today. I got my usual veggie burger with american cheese. It also comes with chipotle mayonnaise, lettuce and a slice of onion. For some reason they gave me a side of sweet potato chips (which kind of sucked) instead of french fries. I think today was an off day because it just wasn't as good as normal. I guess there is always next friday, though.

New Wok N' Roll

So Friday is payday at my work, and that usually means we eat at Pearly Bakers (because it's kind of expensive) but since Giancarlo was not around to back getting lunch there, the vote went towards Chinese food. New Wok is decent, and not too expensive, so i can't really complain. I got a large order of tofu and broccoli in brown sauce, with a side of white rice and a spring roll.

The General Store

On the outside it looks like a pretty standard cheese hoagie, but the toppings really make it stand out. Every time that I order from this place they change up the veggies, and today was no exception. A full pickle spear, lettuce, onions and jalapeno peppers. The bread is probably the best i have ever had with a sandwich.

Pino's Pizzeria

The side with the green peppers was mine. Not bad, but this pizza was hyped and unfortunately did not really live up to it. I mean, I would eat it again if it was there, I just wouldn't seek it out.

Intro Bust!

Here it is. Weeks in the making, My Lunch is finally up and running. Check back tomorrow for the first real lunch post, which will be up when i get back from work.
